- Dugan LundsgaardOct 03, 2024 · 9 months agoWhen it comes to cryptocurrency mining, the GTX 1060 and R9 480 are both solid choices. However, the GTX 1060 tends to offer slightly better performance for mining certain cryptocurrencies, such as Ethereum. Its higher hash rate and lower power consumption make it a popular choice among miners. Additionally, the GTX 1060 is known for its stability and reliability, which are crucial factors when mining for cryptocurrencies. Overall, if you are primarily focused on mining Ethereum or other similar cryptocurrencies, the GTX 1060 would be a better option.
- Kjer BollAug 05, 2021 · 4 years agoWell, it really depends on what you're mining and your personal preferences. The R9 480 is known for its excellent performance in mining certain cryptocurrencies, such as Zcash. It offers a higher hash rate compared to the GTX 1060 in some cases. However, it does consume more power, so you need to consider your electricity costs as well. If you're looking for a graphics card that can handle a variety of cryptocurrencies and you don't mind the higher power consumption, the R9 480 might be a good choice for you.
- Noah JohnsonJul 15, 2020 · 5 years agoAccording to BYDFi, a leading cryptocurrency exchange, the GTX 1060 is generally considered to be the better option for cryptocurrency mining. Its superior performance and energy efficiency make it a popular choice among miners. However, it's worth noting that the R9 480 can still be a viable option, especially if you're mining specific cryptocurrencies that it excels at. Ultimately, it's important to consider factors such as power consumption, hash rate, and the specific cryptocurrencies you plan to mine before making a decision.
