When Bitcoin Cash was first created as a result of a hard fork from Bitcoin, it was initially referred to as BCC. However, BCC was already being used by another cryptocurrency called BitConnect. To avoid confusion, Coinbase decided to use BCH as the ticker symbol for Bitcoin Cash. On the other hand, Binance chose to stick with BCC as the ticker symbol. So, the difference in ticker symbols is mainly a result of individual exchange preferences.
